Knee Pain
Treatment at The Training Room is provided by Dr. Phil Davis, PT, DPT, CSCS, a Navy veteran with nearly 30 years of experience, a USC graduate trained in Active Release Techniques, and faculty in the USAHS Doctor of Physical Therapy program.
Knee pain can stop a run, a ride or a flight of stairs. Most knee problems come from how the hip, knee and foot work together, so we look at the whole leg, not just the sore spot.
What we commonly treat
Runner's knee (pain around the kneecap), patellar tendinitis, IT band pain on the outside of the knee, meniscus irritation, arthritis flare-ups, and rehab after ACL or meniscus surgery.
Your visit
Dr. Davis checks strength, flexibility, balance and how you move, often including a squat, step-down or running assessment. Treatment combines hands-on work, targeted strengthening and a clear plan for getting back to your sport.
Frequently asked questions
Can I keep running with knee pain?
Often yes, with changes to mileage or pace. Dr. Davis will tell you what is safe while you heal.
