“I have a theory that the louder a person speaks, the more confident they are. You can hear Phil for miles, especially when he’s talking about injuries and rehabilitation. When I first met Phil, I knew immediately that he was passionate and knowledgeable about sports injuries. I had instant confidence in his ability to understand my injury and help me work through it with the goal of getting me back to training.

I was a battered triathlete with a nagging knee pain that prevented me from running a mile. I came to him scared and frustrated. He put me right at ease with his calm sentiment and his reassuring hands.  He didn’t say the dreaded words, “You can never run again”, words that we hear too often from our doctors. He simply assessed my injury, came up with a plan and put it into action.

Needless to say, I competed in Vineman 70.3 several months later and put up my best time! You can’t ask for a better physical therapist, period.”

Esther Y., MD, Triathlete

After several months of hip pain and several misdiagnoses, I was fortunate enough to fall under Dr. Davis’ care. As a triathlete and distance runner himself, he knew how frustrating it was for me to be limited in my fitness. At our first appointment, he took a great deal of time to gather a thorough history and made me feel as if I were his only patient that day.

After his evaluation he spent even more time explaining the exercises he was prescribing and the reasons behind them. We set up a game plan to reach a diagnosis, relieve my pain, and most importantly get me running again! His knowledge, expertise, and professionalism are top of the line. His suspicion of a torn labrum was confirmed through an MRI and we then began strengthening the supporting muscles to speed my recovery post-op.

After surgery we began to rehab the hip and strengthen my core to help prevent reinjury. It was a rough regimen, but through it all I came back stronger and faster than before with my first sub-20 min 5k and PR’s in 10k, half marathon and marathon times. I know I couldn’t have done this without Phil’s guidance and knowledge of his trade.
