Where to Get a Running Gait Analysis in Austin

If you keep getting hurt when you run, or you just want to run more easily, a gait analysis is one of the most useful hours you can spend. Here is what it is and what to expect at The Training Room.

What is a running gait analysis? It is a close look at how you run. Dr. Davis records video of you running, then slows it down to see how your foot lands, how your knees and hips line up, and how your body handles each stride.

Who it helps: runners with an injury that keeps coming back, triathletes building mileage, new runners who want to start well, and anyone training for a race who wants to stay healthy.

What happens during the visit: a short history of your running and injuries, strength and mobility testing, video of you running, a side-by-side review of what to change, and a few simple drills and cues to practice. Bring the shoes you run in most.

What happens next: most runners leave with two or three changes to work on, not a complete overhaul. If an injury is part of the picture, the gait analysis becomes part of your treatment plan.
